Power Play Multiplier Leads to $50,000 Prize!

James Cantwell of Portland is an occasional Powerball player. When the recent Powerball jackpot reached a record $340 million, James felt that was a special “occasion” for him to play.
 

James says that his first thought was that he’d won over $600, because he knew he had to make a visit to the Lottery office in Salem to collect his prize. When he realized he was a $50,000 winner, it made the trip to Salem that much more enjoyable.

$10,000 Win for Life Winner!

Phyllis Spurgeon of Clackamas knows that the top prize in the Oregon Lottery’s Win for Life on-line game is $1,000 a-week-for-life. She says she’s going to continue playing, and trying for the big prize. In the meantime, Phyllis was feeling pretty good about winning a $10,000 Win for Life prize.
 

The $10,000 prize area of a Win for Life ticket gives players eight combinations of Quick Pick numbers. Her third set of numbers made Phyllis the 94th $10,000 prize winner in the game. Overall, Win for Life players have won more than $14.6 million in prizes.

$90, 613 Keno Win!

After a rough week, Matt Sitser, of Warrenton, stopped in at Mr. Fultano’s Family Pizza to have a cold one. While there, Matt figured it was time to enjoy a little Keno.
 

Matt’s prize was $15,000 for matching all eight numbers. Because he played $5 per game, his prize was increased to $75,000. Added to that was a Keno Rolling Jackpot Bonus of $15,613, giving Matt a total prize of $90,613, and a feeling that things were getting better!

A $10,000 Fruitcake!

We’re not sure how many fruitcakes Joe Marquess of Portland has received as holiday gifts during the years, but we’re pretty sure he enjoyed his latest fruitcake surprise.
 

Fruitcake Cash is the latest addition to the Lottery’s popular Scratch ‘n Sniff Scratch-it games, and has a total prize payout of more than $1.7 million.
 

Sports Action Winner X 2!

In professional football games, “going for two” happens when one of the teams is trying to score some extra points, and it makes the game more exciting.
 

David won two out of three weeks playing Sports Action, for prizes totaling $4,454. David keeps his eye on what’s happening in professional football, and lets his knowledge of that help him make his selections. David played 10 events each time, choosing correctly on all 10.

David won a $1,686 prize with a winning ticket from Albertson’s #574, in Springfield, and followed that up with a winning ticket from Dari-Mart #38, in Springfield, for $2,768.

 

$100,000 Scratch-it Win Comes into Focus!

“I was going to throw my ticket away. I didn’t have my glasses on.”

 

Bill, a long-haul truck driver, and his traveling buddy, Keith, were relaxing at the Ponderosa Country Lounge, in Portland. Bill decided to purchase a single Scratch-it ticket. After scratching his ticket, Bill handed it to Keith, and asked, “Did I win?” Keith made sure Bill sat down before he told him he was a $100,000 winner.

$50,000 Jackpot Prize!

Buddy Mooney, and his wife, Valerie, were enjoying their evening out at Sunset Bingo in Beaverton, when there was a break in the action.

Buddy picked up a couple of Jackpot Riches Scratch-it tickets, went outside for a little fresh air, and scratched his tickets. When he uncovered three $50,000 prize amounts, he became the game’s first $50,000 top prize winner.
 

An estimated three-quarter of a million people are expected at the rally. Even with all those people it will be easy to pick out Buddy. He’ll be the one with the biggest smile.

Know When to Show ’Em $12,000 !

We’re not sure that Calvin Chambers of Springfield has ever seen the movie, “The Gambler,” with Kenny Rogers, but he sure knew the right time to “hold ’em.” Calvin played the Oregon Lottery’s popular Championship Poker Scratch-it game, and found himself holding a $12,000 winner.
 

Calvin came up with a best hand of three aces to beat the champion’s hand. Calvin’s winning ticket was purchased at Dari-Mart #32, in Eugene.

No Kidding About a $36,025 Keno Win !

Elle Hansen was watching the Keno monitor as the numbers were coming up for one of the Keno games she and Brad Joelson were playing at PSHAW’s, in Portland. Elle and Brad, both from Portland, each picked four numbers, and played 10 consecutive games with their eight-spot Keno ticket.
 

Elle was watching the numbers come up, and got pretty excited when she saw that all eight of their numbers were displayed on the Keno monitor. Brad didn’t believe it at first, but soon got caught up in the excitement and fun. Speaking of fun, Brad simply said, “Have some fun,” when asked what he was going to do with his portion of the prize money. Elle was a little more specific. “I have a plan. I’m going to get a motorcycle.”

Milwaukie Man Wins $17.2 Million Megabucks Jackpot!

“I just couldn’t believe it. I kept looking at the winning numbers over, and over, and over,” said John Bentley, describing his feelings about having the winning ticket for the $17.2 million Megabucks jackpot from the Aug. 27, drawing.  Watch KATU-TV news clip of the winners (1.72Mb WMF)

The disbelief turned to smiles, hugs, and excitement for John, and his wife, Jackie, as they received their prize check at a presentation at the Lottery office in Salem on Aug. 29.
 

John, a regular Megabucks player, used the Quick Pick method to select four combinations of numbers at Self Service Market, in Portland.

“It’s funny how you dream about something like this, and then you have a hard time believing that it’s happening,” said John. He showed the winning numbers and his ticket to Jackie, and then called his mother-in-law and father-in-law over to share the news. “Everyone was in a state of shock,” said Jackie. “We just couldn’t believe we had all the winning numbers.”

$10,000 Win for Life Winner !

“Just give me a ‘quick pick,’” was all Annie Young had to say when she stopped in at Dari-Mart #5, in Junction City, to pick up her Win for Life on-line ticket.
 

Annie became the 87th $10,000 prize winner in Win for Life, which has had more than three million winning tickets, and more than $13.7 million paid in prizes.

...a $3,023 Keno Win!

If you asked James Mangum of Portland what his fortune was after he opened up his fortune cookie, he might not remember. If you asked James what the numbers were that were listed on the fortune, he would tell you 9-11-15-23-38-41.
 

James’ results? A $3,023 six-spot Special Keno Rolling Jackpot Bonus prize in the first game he played.

A Cheerful Megabucks Winner

What better place to find fun and excitement, than a business whose name says you’ll enjoy your visit if you come in?
 

Kellee used the Quick Pick method to select four sets of numbers, a $2 purchase. She matched five of six in her second set of numbers. Kellee wasn’t the only one feeling cheerful, as there were 26,379 winning tickets, and more than $150,000 in prizes from the same drawing.

$22,000 Keno Winner !

Michael Barrett of Eugene didn’t want anyone to think he wasn’t happy and excited when he matched 9 of 10 numbers on his 10-Spot Special Keno ticket, and won a $22,000 prize. It’s just that he wants to hit that 10th number, and become a $1 million Keno winner.
 

“I intend to come back for the $1 million prize,” said Michael. “That’s the one I’m playing for.” Michael played five consecutive games at $1 per game, at the Viking Inn in Junction City. His big win came in the final game he played.

A $200,000 Powerball Surprise!

Cindy Kuntz knew that she’d matched five of six numbers, without the power ball, on her Powerball ticket. She also knew that meant she was a $100,000 winner. What she didn’t know, was that her husband had selected the Power Play option when he purchased the ticket.
 

“I didn’t know he played Power Play when he bought the ticket,” said Cindy, when she arrived at the Lottery office in Salem, and was informed of the $200,000 prize total. “This is great. We’ve been talking about buying property in La Grande, and this sure makes it seem like it’s going to happen.”

Multiplying Your Keno Prize!

Mike Lummus was at Emerald Lanes in Eugene for his bowling session. He got there a little early and thought he would play Keno while waiting.
 

Ah, but Mike wasn’t done. In the second game, he matched all four of his numbers for a $140 prize. The Keno Multiplier “5" was drawn for that game, and Mike had a $700 prize, for a total of $715 in winnings from his $6 ticket!

"Passing Time"

Thai Chhay of Portland needed something to help her pass the time during a break at work. She decided that playing one of the Lottery's exciting Scratch-it games was a great way to do it. Thai certainly got her share of excitement when she became a $50,000 top prize winner in the Lottery's popular "Hot Vegas Nights" Scratch-it game. Thai drew a "10" to beat the dealer's "6," and won the $50,000 prize. "Hot Vegas Nights" offers each player 21 chances to win, and a total prize payout of more than $2.1 million.
 

The number of games available to play and chances to win on each "Hot Vegas Nights" Scratch-it ticket were attractive features to Thai, who was looking for a game to play that would carry her through her break. It may not have taken Thai her full break to play the game, but she said the excitement would last a long time.

$1,000 Scratch-it Talent

Mason Watson lives in Talent, and also has the “talent” for picking the right Oregon Lottery Scratch-it game to play.
 

The Instant Keno Scratch-it ticket offers each player six games in which they can win prizes ranging from $2 to the $12,500 top prize. Mason matched nine numbers in Game 6, to win his $1,000 prize.

$56,644 is Better !

Kathy E. from Stayton enjoys playing Keno, and will usually play a seven-spot ticket. This time she thought she would give the eight-spot Keno Rolling Jackpot a try.
 

Kathy’s prize, won at Elmer’s Pancake & Steak House in Salem, consisted of $15,000 for matching all eight numbers, plus a $41,644 Rolling Jackpot Bonus.

...with an $80,000 Scratch-it Prize !

Kuldip Singh of Blaine, Washington, may have trouble deciding if his theme song should be “On The Road Again,” or “I’m in The Money.” An $80,000 Oregon Lottery prize can certainly influence one’s decision.
 

Kuldip purchased a Casino Fortune Scratch-it ticket. He uncovered a “Jack,” to beat the dealer’s “8" card in the “High Card” portion of his ticket, and won the matching $80,000 prize!

A Swing & a $1,200 Hit!

If Ryan Anh Vuong was a baseball player, getting one hit every 20 times up to bat probably wouldn’t get him an invitation to Spring Training. Playing Keno, and getting the big hit once in 20 games, can make you feel like you just hit a home run.
 

He chose his own numbers, matched eight of 10 numbers on his 10-spot ticket, and won a $1,200 prize! Ryan’s big hit came in the second game played at Dotty’s #12, on Highway 26, in Sandy.

Daughter Knows Best

Instead of giving a little fatherly advice, Todd Calvert of Astoria was the recipient of good advice from his daughter, Jilian.

Jilian's advice was for Todd to purchase a couple of Slingo Scratch-it tickets for the new Slingo Click&Play computer game. Todd took her advice, purchased three tickets, and became a $10,000 top prize winner on the first ticket!
 

Jilian also mentioned that a car for her would be a nice way to spend some of the prize money. Todd smiled, but didn't confirm if he was ready to listen to his daughter once again.

The Oregon Lottery's popular Slingo Click&Play computer game has a total prize payout of more than $1.6 million. The game gives players the chance to win prizes ranging from $2 to the $10,000 top prize. Players may win by matching three like symbols or accumulating points, and winning the corresponding prize.

…$60,952 Richer!

Marian Hyde of Prineville joined the growing list of “big” Oregon Lottery Keno winners, when she won a $60,952 eight-spot Special Keno Rolling Jackpot Bonus prize.
 

Marion enjoys playing Keno, and became a big winner at the Eagles #2555, in Prineville.


Jane Angioli Wins $1,200 with Special Keno!Jane Angioli of Aloha played a 10-spot Special Keno ticket, and matched eight of her numbers. Matching 80% of the numbers she played was just fine with Jane, who became a $1,200 Special Keno winner!
 

Jane played three consecutive games at Doozy’s, in Aloha. Her big win came in the second game.
 

Michael Kinnee - $11,185 Keno Winner!

To Michael Kinnee, last meant the most. Michael played five consecutive games on his seven-spot Special Keno ticket, and won twice. The second game gave Michael a $1 prize. The last game made him an $11,185 winner!
 

Michael, a Portland resident, played and enjoyed Keno at Mickey Finn’s Brew Pub, in Portland.
 

Scott Lee Wins $49,514 with Keno Jackpot Bonus!

Scott Lee of Klamath Falls was certain of three things. He’d matched all eight of his numbers on his eight-spot Keno ticket, he’d played the Keno Multiplier option, and he’d won the Keno Rolling Jackpot Bonus. What he didn’t know, was exactly how much the total prize was.
 

Scott won $15,000 for matching all eight of his numbers. When the Keno Multiplier “3" was selected in the eight game he played, the prize was increased to $45,000. The Keno Rolling Jackpot Bonus was $4,514, giving him a total prize of $49,514.

Scott was at Summers Lane Tavern in Klamath Falls, where his wife works, hanging out with some friends, when he won his big prize.

 

Ayman Deeb Wins the $20,000 Sports Den!

Ayman Deeb of Beaverton, was the winner of the Oregon Lottery’s 2004/2005 Scoreboard $20,000 Ultimate Sports Den Web site Second Chance drawing! Ayman had his entry drawn from among the 35,834 entries in the Feb. 24, drawing, held at the Lottery office in Salem.

Ayman, a regular Scoreboard and Sports Action player, was stunned when he received a call indicating he was the big winner. “I couldn’t believe it,” said Deeb, who had also entered the Lottery’s 2003/2004 Scoreboard Web site contest. “I’ve told some of my friends, and they couldn’t believe that I could win such a great prize with a non-winning ticket.”
 

Ayman purchased the ticket that was drawn, a non-winner, from Albertson’s #590, in Hillsboro. He received his prize check, oversized souvenir check, and complimentary photos at the Lottery office on Feb. 28.
 

Steven Tilley Wins $19, 753 with Keno!

When playing Keno, you can play from one to 10 spots per ticket. You can choose from 80 numbers, you can decide to play the Keno Multiplier option, and you can play up to 100 consecutive games.
 

Taking it easy paid off for Steven, when he became a $19,753 Keno Rolling Jackpot Bonus winner! Steven’s winning ticket paid $15,000 when he matched all eight of his numbers. He added a $4,753 Rolling Jackpot Bonus, to give him a total Keno prize of $19,753.

Keno Multilplier Mutiplies Sarah Dueber’s Prize!

Sarah Dueber of Cannon Beach must have been paying attention in school during math. Especially when it came to her multiplication tables. Sarah played a six-spot Keno ticket for five consecutive games. She chose to play $3 per game, at a cost of $15.

James Petty Wins $20,713 Playing Sports Action!

James Petty of Richland, Washington, likes to add to the fun of watching pro football games by playing Sports Action. It’s just that sometimes; he doesn’t have enough time to make all the calls.
 

James and Quick Pick turned out to be a good team. His ticket, purchased at Crossroads Truckstop in Umatilla, correctly picked the winners for all 14 events, earning him a $20,713 Sports Action prize.
 

Sparkling Numbers

People often say that diamonds sparkle, and that the number “7,” is lucky.
 

Linda uncovered three 7's in a diagonal line to win her $777 prize. She probably wants to thank Justin’s General Store, in Portland, for adding a little sparkle to her day.
 

I Just Found Out

Laurel Cooley of Creswell enjoys playing Win For Life, and doesn’t want to chance missing any drawings. Laurel will often purchase her tickets for multiple drawings. “I don’t want to suddenly remember that I don’t have my tickets, and have to run out to get one,” said Laurel.
 

Laurel purchased her winning ticket at Ray’s Food Place #48, in Creswell. She joins a growing list of Win for Life winners, who have won more than $11 million in prizes since the game began in February 2001. This includes eight winners of the $1,000 a-week-for-life top prize.
 

What A Coincidence

Suzanne McDougle of Mt. Vernon, Washington, found it pretty interesting that her birthday is on 02-14, and that her Keno prize had the numbers 0, 2, and 14 in it. Suzanne really liked the fact that the number “2" came first, in her $2,014 six-spot Keno Rolling Jackpot Bonus prize.

Taking It Easy

Jim De Camp of Lincoln City was pretty relaxed when he claimed his $20,000 Powerball prize at the Lottery office in Salem. He’ll be even more relaxed after he uses a portion of his prize money to purchase that new recliner he’s been thinking about, and sets about enjoying some time at the beach.
 

Jim purchased his winning ticket, one of 18,872 winning tickets for Oregon Lottery Powerball players from the same drawing, at Kenny’s IGA #1, in Lincoln City.
 

Largest Megabucks Jackpot Ever!

Art Brenner made a trip into town to pick up supplies halfway through his hunting trip. While there, Art and Susan Cox, a relative, checked his Megabucks tickets, and discovered that the numbers Art had been playing for 16 years made him the owner of the winning ticket for the $30 million Megabucks jackpot from the Nov. 15, drawing. The big winner claimed his prize at the Lottery office in Salem, on Nov. 30.

Art, a semi-retired CPA, received $29.7 million of the total prize, while Cox received a prize of $300,000. Each winner chose the “Investment Fund” for prize payment, which gives the winner one-half of the advertised jackpot amount in a single, one-time payment. Brenner received $14,850,000 before state and federal taxes were withheld, while Cox received a $150,000 prize before taxes.
 

Playing four sets of numbers for three drawings on a $6 ticket, Art’s big prize was won on the first draw, with the last set of numbers. The winning ticket was sold at 7/Eleven #14508, on SE 42nd St., in Milwaukie. The winning numbers were 7-16-21-22-24-43. Art’s winning ticket was one of 29,721 winning tickets from the Nov. 15, Megabucks drawing.

Ten Times The Excitement

Angela Koljonen of Westport thought it was exciting to win a $140 Keno prize. She enjoys playing Keno, and winning any prize makes it that much more enjoyable.
 

Angela made sure to offer a special “Thanks,” to Tom & Jerry’s Or, in Clatskanie, where she purchased her winning ticket.

Field Celebration

Charles Tucker is probably still doing his end zone dance after becoming a $735 Sports Action winner.
 

Since Sports Action began in 1989, players have won more than $79 million in prizes. By playing the game, Charles was not only a winner himself, but helped support athletic programs and academic scholarships in Oregon. Oregon’s state universities have received more than $30 million in profits from the game.
 

Enjoying Megabucks in Keno

Barbara Sheehy enjoys living in Keno, Oregon, and enjoys playing Megabucks. She also thinks Megabuck’s Kicker multiplier option is enjoyable. Especially when it multiplied Barbara’s $1,328.20 prize for matching five of six numbers, to a $5,312.80 prize!
 

She purchased six sets of numbers for two drawings, at Lien’s Store, in Klamath Falls. Barbara won her big prize in the third set of numbers, in the first drawing.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Larry Sabin of Rogue River continually hits the snooze control on his alarm clock. That would allow him to wake up and find out if he won a Pick 4 prize in the 1, 4 , 7 , or 10 p.m. drawings.
 

Larry played all four drawings on the same day. The Market Basket in Rogue River provided Larry with his winning ticket.
 

Big Football Fan Wins $50,000!

Susan Becktold combined her love for pro football, and her enjoyment of playing the Oregon Lottery’s Scoreboard game, into one big exciting night.

Susan, a Sublimity resident, has become the Oregon Lottery’s newest $50,000 Scoreboard winner. She purchased a $2 Scoreboard ticket for the Monday, Oct. 25, pro football game. She matched the last digit of each team’s game score in the first three quarters, and the final score, to win her $50,000 prize.
 

In addition to Scoreboard, Susan plays Sports Action on a regular basis. Although she has her favorite pro football teams, she keeps her eye on who’s hot and who’s not in making her selections. “I don’t like to miss playing either game,” said Susan. “I really am a big football fan.”
 

Following Her ‘To Do’ List

Part of Debra Kelley’s “To Do” list might look something like this: Enjoy playing some Keno; play Special Keno; and use the Quick Pick method to select her combination of numbers. Well, Debra, from Newberg, looks like she followed every detail, which led her to a $1,750 eight-spot Special Keno prize.
 

Debra played 10 consecutive games at $1 per game, and won her prize in the fifth game she played.
 

"Play It Again"

LaDonna Stark of Portland played Megabucks, matched three of five numbers without the “Kicker,” won a free ticket for the next drawing, and played again.

She matched five of six numbers on her free ticket, and won an $806 prize. “I think this is just great,” said LaDonna. “Winning on a free ticket is pretty good.” LaDonna’s winning ticket was purchased at Plaid Pantry #88, on NE Glisan Street, in Portland. It was one of 10,735 winning tickets for $68,200 in prizes from the same drawing.
