It seems unthinkable – 17 suspects from within Ontario charged with a ghastly plot to blow up some still unnamed Ontario landmarks.

But it may be just the beginning – more arrests are expected in the unfolding saga of those accused in the first ever home grown terror plot.

"We've by no means finished this investigation," assures R.C.M.P. Assistant Commissioner Mike McDonell. "In fact, you might look at it that, really, we're just starting with the arrests. We have a responsibility to follow every lead ...

"Anybody that we find that has aided, facilitated or participated in this threat will be arrested.”

All weekend long, the lawyers for the suspects in the Southern Ontario terror case have been complaining they weren't sure exactly what those currently in custody had been charged with.

But now they – and we – both know a little more.

A Brampton court revealed on Monday that 12 of the men snagged by various police agencies on Friday will be facing one count each of participating in a terrorist group.

And various members of those pinched will face a series of other accusations.

Three of the 12 have been charged with importing weapons and ammunition for the purpose of terrorist activity.

Nine have been accused of receiving training from a terrorist group, while four are said to have provided that training.

And in what may be the most frightening indictment of all, six are cited for intending to cause an explosion causing serious bodily harm or death.

A dozen men were arrested on Friday, accused of allegedly being involved in the largest terror plot in Canadian history.

Authorities have so far refused to say exactly which targets they planned to detonate using three tons of ammonium nitrate, but officials contend obvious symbols like the T.T.C. and local shopping malls weren’t among them.

But one explosive expert suggests if the plot proves to be real and had been carried out, the carnage caused might have been incalculable.

“For sheer power, ammonium nitrate is very powerful, has huge lifting abilities,” explains Al Kotter. “So it could take out cement columns … toss cars and trucks around like dolls.”

Five young offenders were also taken into custody, but the range of charges against them remains under wraps.

There were also hints that areas in Toronto, Mississauga, Fort Erie and the Township of Ramara could all have been targets.

It’s expected more details on the alleged plot will be revealed when 15 of the suspects make their next appearance before a judge on Tuesday.

No Problem Brian, I went to the address for the phone number @21 Dallas Rd. They said no such business is there??? but the answering machine answers, saying that you have contacted Canadian Business Development, but the mailbox is full. The receptionist @ this building said that a lady did pick up mail there for an un known business??
