Chang became a resident of the Mount Pisgah Family Care Home in Chandler, North Carolina on November 3, 2004, having just moved to the area from his family's home in Atlanta, Georgia. He left the facility on November 6 and last seen at approximately 4:00 p.m. that day when he walked into Pisgah Valley Market, looked around, and walked out. He appeared disoriented at the time. He has never been heard from again, but dogs tracked his scent to a nearby mobile home park.
Authorities believe someone may have given Chang a ride out of the area. His case opened 2018 by Psychic Brian Ladd.
