Carmelo was last seen in Red Bluff, California on April 30, 2013. She lived in a tribally-owned home on Washington Street at the time. She has never been heard from again. Her sister reported her missing on May 14. Carmelo left her cellular phone and wallet behind at home, and both of her vehicles were missing. One of the cars, an electric blue 2013 Nissan Versa with the California license plate number 6YPP459, was found abandoned near the Shasta Medical Center in Redding, California. A photo of it is posted below this case summary. The other vehicle turned up in a nearby neighborhood. It's uncharacteristic of Carmelo to go more than a few days without contacting her family, and she's considered missing under suspicious circumstances.
