Higgins was last seen in Spokane, Washington on September 20, 2010. She left her apartment on 10th and Cherry that day with a male acquaintance. She was carrying her purse and a backpack or duffle bag at the time. Her acquaintance said he dropped her off at home later, but no one saw her go inside. She has never been heard from again.
Higgins was hospitalized for bipolar disorder shortly before her disappearance. She had been in the process of moving to another apartment, and while she was in the hospital, someone burglarized her apartment and stole the money she'd saved for her rent deposit. She was on probation for driving under the influence and wasn't allowed to drive, and she was having serious financial problems and under a great deal of stress.
Higgins left behind her car, wallet, keys, toothbrush and other belongings, as well as her pet cats. She was a journalism student at Eastern Washington University at the time of her disappearance. She has two misdemeanor warrants out for her arrest, but authorities don't believe she's running from the law. Since she went missing, she hasn't used her cellular phone or accessed her bank account. Authorities believe Higgins may have been the victim of a homicide. Her case opened 2018 by Psychic Brian Ladd.
