Hume was last seen in Trinity County, California at 2:00 p.m. on April 7, 2012. He got into a car accident on Highway 299 that day and drove his red 1974 MGB convertible into the Trinity River west of Junction City. Rafters in the area witnessed the accident and one of them dove in and saw the car submerged in ten feet of water and Hume seat-belted in the driver's seat, unconscious. The driver cut the seat belt strap, then had to resurface for air. By the time he came back down, Hume had been carried downriver by the current. He never emerged from the water. Hume is presumed to have drowned, but his body hasn't been recovered in spite of an extensive search.

MISSING PERSONS CASES, 2006 - 2017
CASES ARE LOCATED HERE
CASES THAT I HAVE PERSONALLY SOLVED ARE LOCATED HERE
Since 2006 I have personally worked over 1,000 missing person cases and have
literally spent thousands of hours of my own time trying to help find missing
people, especially missing children...and always for free.
The cases listed here are from my old site, unfortunately, after I got sick, I
lost my site and any backup copies I had, so these are direct links to
archive.org's Wayback Machine. In time I will transfer these old cases to my new
site. I've had a pretty good track record in helping to locate loved ones, and
I'm always willing to help in new cases as well. To view all my past
cases right now please visit
