A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are unknown. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons. In most parts of the world, a missing person will usually be found quickly. While criminal abductions are some of the most widely reported missing person cases, these account for only 2 to 5 percent of missing children in Europe. By contrast, some missing person cases remain unresolved for many years. Laws related to these cases are often complex since, in many jurisdictions, relatives and third parties may not deal with a person's assets until their death is considered proven by law and a formal death certificate issued. The situation, uncertainties, and lack of closure or a funeral resulting when a person goes missing may be extremely painful with long-lasting effects on family and friends. A number of organizations seek to connect, share best practices, and disseminate information and images of missing children to improve the effectiveness of missing children investigations, including the International Commission on Missing Persons, the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC), as well as national organizations, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in the US, Missing People in the UK, Child Focus in Belgium, and The Smile of the Child in Greece.

According to current statistics, 4,000 people in the United States go missing every day. Sometimes a child suddenly vanishes from the bus stop or the local park or even from their own yard or bedroom. Or a teenager doesnt return home after a walk to the neighborhood grocery store or a bike ride or a party with friends. Other times, an adult is mysteriously absent from their job or neighbors havent seen them for several days, and family and friends havent heard from them either.

Markings and/or Distinguishing Characteristics Hispanic female. Brown hair, brown eyes. Alicia has braces on her teeth and a scar on her left knuckle. Because of her short stature, she looks much younger than her age.
Details of Disappearance Alicia was last seen in Glendale, Arizona on September 15, 2019. At 1:00 a.m. she came downstairs for a glass of water and asked her mother why she was still awake. Her mother didn't think much of this and went to sleep.
When her mother woke up at 7:00 a.m., the back door was open, chairs were placed against a brick wall in the backyard and there were shoe prints matching Alicia's sneakers. It appeared she'd used the chairs to climb over the wall.
Sometime during the night, Alicia had left her home in the vicinity of 45th Avenue and Rose Lane on foot. She took a small black backpack, her silver iPhone 6 cellular phone, and her silver Apple MacBook computer, but didn't take the chargers. She left behind the laptop she used for school and the desktop computer she used for games.
Her mother believes she left to meet someone she'd been talking to online. She left a note saying, "I ran away. I will be back, I swear. I'm sorry. -- Alicia." She never returned and has never been heard from again.
The police stated Alicia is very tech-savvy and took her phone and computer in an attempt to make it harder to find her. Prior to her disappearance she hadn't been fighting with her family or indicated she was unhappy.
Alicia was a student at Bourgade Catholic High School at the time of her disappearance. According to her mother, due to her autism, Alicia liked a strict routine with no deviations from her schedule and didn't like to go out in public. She was prone to emotional meltdowns and needed help with socializing. Her mother believes she never intended to be gone this long and is being held against her will. Her remains unsolved.
