A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are unknown. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons. In most parts of the world, a missing person will usually be found quickly. While criminal abductions are some of the most widely reported missing person cases, these account for only 2 to 5 percent of missing children in Europe. By contrast, some missing person cases remain unresolved for many years. Laws related to these cases are often complex since, in many jurisdictions, relatives and third parties may not deal with a person's assets until their death is considered proven by law and a formal death certificate issued. The situation, uncertainties, and lack of closure or a funeral resulting when a person goes missing may be extremely painful with long-lasting effects on family and friends. A number of organizations seek to connect, share best practices, and disseminate information and images of missing children to improve the effectiveness of missing children investigations, including the International Commission on Missing Persons, the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC), as well as national organizations, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in the US, Missing People in the UK, Child Focus in Belgium, and The Smile of the Child in Greece.

Resources for Missing Persons

According to current statistics, 4,000 people in the United States go missing every day. Sometimes a child suddenly vanishes from the bus stop or the local park or even from their own yard or bedroom. Or a teenager doesnt return home after a walk to the neighborhood grocery store or a bike ride or a party with friends. Other times, an adult is mysteriously absent from their job or neighbors havent seen them for several days, and family and friends havent heard from them either.

Details of Disappearance Armaidre was last seen with his father, DeAndre Marquie Argumon, at his family's home in the 500 block of Old Forest Road in Wells, Texas at 8:30 a.m. on September 18, 2020. A relative left them alone while she went out to run an errand, and when she came back, both DeAndre and Armaidre were gone.
DeAndre was later found alone and under the influence. He initially said someone had taken the baby, then said Armaidre's mother had taken him. It wasn't possible for his mother to have taken the baby, however; she had an alibi for the time Armaidre disappeared. Armaidre has never been heard from again and an extensive search turned up no indication of his whereabouts.
DeAndre refused to cooperate with the investigation and was arrested, initially for unauthorized use of a vehicle and public intoxication. Later, he was charged with endangering and/or abandoning a child. (He had been released from jail just a few days before Armaidre's disappearance, where he was in custody on a parole violation.) He was supposed to only be allowed to see his son during supervised visitation.
A photo of DeAndre is posted with this summary. Authorities have asked potential eyewitnesses to contact them if they saw him driving a 2003 gray Ford Explorer between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on September 18.
In April 2021, DeAndre was found guilty of unauthorized use of a vehicle. September 2021, DeAndre pleaded guilty to abandoning a child, enhanced by imminent danger of bodily injury, in Armaidre's . There was an exception written into the plea agreement, so that if other crimes are discovered, he can be prosecuted for them. He remains the lead suspected in his son's disappearance and has not been cooperative.
Although authorities have not said what they think may have happened to Armaidre, they did say they think the baby is in danger. His remains unsolved.
