The Hoover Police Department Set Up A Mobile Command Center Near The Galleria By Tuesday, November 20th The Use Of The Command Center Was Focused On Traffic In The Area And Providing Security To The Galleria.[1]  At Approximately 9:52 Pm Local Time  2018 On November 22nd, 2018, An Altercation Occurred During The Lead Up To The 2018 Black Friday. The Altercation Involved Bradford, An 18-Year-Old Male, And At Least An Unknown Third Person Near The Footaction Store On The Second Level Of The Mall. The 18-Year-Old And A Nearly 12-Year-Old Girl Were Both Hit By Gunfire And The Unknown Person Fled The Area. Quickly After The Shooting, Two Officers From The Hoover Police Department Approached Bradford, Who Was Armed. One Of The Officers Fired At Bradford, Which Killed Him Inside Of Galleria. Bradford Was Not Immediately Identified Outside Of Unofficial Statements But Would Be Confirmed To Be The Initial Shooter By Chief Derzis Of The Hoover Police Department During A Press Conference. The Injured 18-Year-Old And 12-Year-Old Were Taken To Different Hospitals, With The 18-Year-Old Placed In Serious Condition With Two Shots To The Torso And The 12-Year-Old In Stable Condition With A Lodged Bullet Near The Spine.  The Mall Would Close For The Night.  Early In The Morning, The Hoover Police Department Released An Official Press Release That Clarified That The Sheriff'S Office Would Investigate The Shooting. The Galleria Reopened For Black Friday Sales At 7am Local Time. During The Investigation Into The Shooting, An Additional Gun Was Found In The Santa'S Village Portion Of The Galleria. Doubt Grew That Bradford Was The Initial Shooter And, In A Press Conference, Captain Rector Of The Hoover Police Department Stated That The Initial Shooter Would Need To Be Determined By The Jefferson County Sheriff’S Office Investigation Into The Initial Shooting. Captain Rector Also Stated That They Believe The Initial Altercation Had More People Involved Than Originally Determined And Clarified That A Separate Investigation By The Hoover Police Department Would Occur For The Police Shooting.[2] Late In The Evening, The Hoover Police Department Issued A Correction Saying That Bradford Was Not The Shooter.
