Missing Person Photos
A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are unknown. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons. In most parts of the world, a missing person will usually be found quickly. While criminal abductions are some of the most widely reported missing person cases, these account for only 2 to 5 percent of missing children in Europe.
By contrast, some missing person cases remain unresolved for many years. Laws related to these cases are often complex since, in many jurisdictions, relatives and third parties may not deal with a person's assets until their death is considered proven by law and a formal death certificate issued. The situation, uncertainties, and lack of closure or a funeral resulting when a person goes missing may be extremely painful with long-lasting effects on family and friends.
A number of organizations seek to connect, share best practices, and disseminate information and images of missing children to improve the effectiveness of missing children investigations, including the International Commission on Missing Persons, the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC), as well as national organizations, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in the US, Missing People in the UK, Child Focus in Belgium, and The Smile of the Child in Greece.

According to current statistics, 4,000 people in the United States go missing every day.
Sometimes a child suddenly vanishes from the bus stop or the local park or even from their own yard or bedroom. Or a teenager doesn�t return home after a walk to the neighborhood grocery store or a bike ride or a party with friends.
Other times, an adult is mysteriously absent from their job or neighbors haven�t seen them for several days, and family and friends haven�t heard from them either.

Details of Disappearance Brittany was last seen when her aunt dropped her off at her father's home on McCovery Road in Mobile, Alabama at 9:00 a.m. on June 14, 2012, for what was supposed to be a two-day visit. She has never been heard from again. Her father, Demetric L. Hooper, left Mobile immediately after her disappearance, and six weeks later a warrant was issued for his arrest. In September, he was located at a mental health facility in Arkansas. Hooper suffers from schizophrenia and had sought treatment there. In the years prior to Brittany's disappearance, he had been hospitalized in Alabama several times for his mental illness and for drug problems. Brittany wasn't with her father when the police found him in Arkansas, and he was charged with felony custodial interference.
Authorities determined he traveled extensively throughout the southeastern United States after Brittany vanished. He took a bus from Memphis, Tennessee to Arkansas on July 7, three weeks after Brittany was last seen, and she wasn't with him then. Hooper was carrying Brittany's pink iPod, as well as knives and a rope, at the time of his arrest. He denied any involvement in his daughter's disappearance.
Hooper has prior arrests for domestic violence and assaulting a police officer, and violently resisted police when they arrested him in Arkansas, but his relatives stated they didn't believe he would have harmed Brittany. In August 2014, he pleaded guilty to custodial interference and was sentenced to ten years in prison. He was released in December 2016, after serving only four years.
Searches of Hooper's home turned up no evidence of Brittany's whereabouts, and she hasn't had any contact with friends or relatives since she was last seen. She was supposed to begin her freshman year at Murphy High School in the fall of 2012, and had signed up for advanced placement courses. The circumstances of her disappearance are unclear.
