Missing Person Photos

A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are unknown. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons. In most parts of the world, a missing person will usually be found quickly. While criminal abductions are some of the most widely reported missing person cases, these account for only 2 to 5 percent of missing children in Europe. By contrast, some missing person cases remain unresolved for many years. Laws related to these cases are often complex since, in many jurisdictions, relatives and third parties may not deal with a person's assets until their death is considered proven by law and a formal death certificate issued. The situation, uncertainties, and lack of closure or a funeral resulting when a person goes missing may be extremely painful with long-lasting effects on family and friends. A number of organizations seek to connect, share best practices, and disseminate information and images of missing children to improve the effectiveness of missing children investigations, including the International Commission on Missing Persons, the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC), as well as national organizations, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in the US, Missing People in the UK, Child Focus in Belgium, and The Smile of the Child in Greece.

Or a teenager doesn�t return home after a walk to the neighborhood grocery store or a bike ride or a party with friends. Details of Disappearance Caldwell was last seen in Columbia, South Carolina on March 3, 1982. He withdrew $500 from his bank account that day; this was the last activity on the account. He was driving a black and gray 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix with the South Carolina license plate number GOK 105 and VIN number 2K57TA195320, and may have been en route to Charleston, South Carolina. He has never been heard from again and his vehicle has never been recovered.
In 1978, four years before his disappearance, Caldwell was robbed and beaten by three men in the 2300 block of Gervais Street. He was able to identify one of his assailants as Leroy Nolan, also known as Tony Shelton, and a year later, Nolan was arrested for the assault.
Nolan was released from jail in October 1982. Just before his disappearance, Caldwell told his father he was being threatened by Nolan.
In 2004, Nolan and two other men were charged murder and kidnapping in connection with a double homicide that happened in 1978. They allegedly killed a woman and her two-year-old son on the same day Caldwell was attacked. A photo of Nolan is posted with this summary.
Authorities hoped to learn more information about Caldwell's disappearance following Nolan's arrest, but they were unable to learn anything, and Nolan died in 2010.
Foul play is suspected in Caldwell's , which remains unsolved.
