A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are unknown. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons. In most parts of the world, a missing person will usually be found quickly. While criminal abductions are some of the most widely reported missing person cases, these account for only 2 to 5 percent of missing children in Europe. By contrast, some missing person cases remain unresolved for many years. Laws related to these cases are often complex since, in many jurisdictions, relatives and third parties may not deal with a person's assets until their death is considered proven by law and a formal death certificate issued. The situation, uncertainties, and lack of closure or a funeral resulting when a person goes missing may be extremely painful with long-lasting effects on family and friends. A number of organizations seek to connect, share best practices, and disseminate information and images of missing children to improve the effectiveness of missing children investigations, including the International Commission on Missing Persons, the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC), as well as national organizations, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in the US, Missing People in the UK, Child Focus in Belgium, and The Smile of the Child in Greece.

According to current statistics, 4,000 people in the United States go missing every day. Sometimes a child suddenly vanishes from the bus stop or the local park or even from their own yard or bedroom. Or a teenager doesnt return home after a walk to the neighborhood grocery store or a bike ride or a party with friends. Other times, an adult is mysteriously absent from their job or neighbors havent seen them for several days, and family and friends havent heard from them either.

Details of Disappearance Ivester was last seen in Walhalla, South Carolina at 6:00 p.m. on February 15, 2021. He left his residence on Wagener Circle with a male acquaintance that afternoon and they walked to a residence in the vicinity of Rock Crusher Road and Coffee Road, and this was where he was last seen. He has never been heard from again.
Days after his disappearance, the camouflage-print hat and matching hooded sweatshirt he'd been wearing that day were found in a wooded area off Wolfers Hollow Road, near Rock Crusher Road. No other sign of him has been located in spite of extensive searches.
Ivester's wife stated the man her husband left with had been by their house two or three times before, but that Ivester and this man had never gone anywhere together before or spent much time together. The person has not been publicly named and it's clear whether he's a suspect in the .
It's uncharacteristic of Ivester to leave without warning. He left behind a five-year-old son and two stepsons, and his wife was pregnant with a daughter.
His mother saw him the day he disappeared and said he showed her ultrasound images of his unborn child. She said he seemed happy about the baby (something his wife confirmed), but she sensed he was frightened about something and asked what was wrong. He told her he would tell her later. Later that day he went missing.
Ivester's disappearance may be connected to several others in the area, including that of Pamela "Faith" Roach, Laura Anders and Tammy Stubblefield, who all disappeared from the area in 2019.
There are some similarities in the s, and they had some mutual friends and acquaintances. Investigators haven't decided whether the s are connected, however. All remain unsolved.
