A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are unknown. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons. In most parts of the world, a missing person will usually be found quickly. While criminal abductions are some of the most widely reported missing person cases, these account for only 2 to 5 percent of missing children in Europe. By contrast, some missing person cases remain unresolved for many years. Laws related to these cases are often complex since, in many jurisdictions, relatives and third parties may not deal with a person's assets until their death is considered proven by law and a formal death certificate issued. The situation, uncertainties, and lack of closure or a funeral resulting when a person goes missing may be extremely painful with long-lasting effects on family and friends. A number of organizations seek to connect, share best practices, and disseminate information and images of missing children to improve the effectiveness of missing children investigations, including the International Commission on Missing Persons, the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC), as well as national organizations, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in the US, Missing People in the UK, Child Focus in Belgium, and The Smile of the Child in Greece.

Sometimes a child suddenly vanishes from the bus stop or the local park or even from their own yard or bedroom. Or a teenager doesn�t return home after a walk to the neighborhood grocery store or a bike ride or a party with friends. Other times, an adult is mysteriously absent from their job or neighbors haven�t seen them for several days, and family and friends haven�t heard from them either.

Medical Conditions King suffers from a seizure disorder and heart problems. He takes medication for high blood pressure, and he doesn't have his medicine with him.

Details of Disappearance King was last seen in West Finley Township, Pennsylvania on December 3, 2008. His wife was serving time in the Greene County Jail for a drunk driving conviction, and King went to visit her. Afterwards, at 8:30 p.m., a friend dropped him off at his home in the 100 block of Jake Hill Road and watched him go inside. He has never been heard from again.
King left his blood pressure medication inside his friend's truck. He was holding rent money for his niece, Misty Blue Morrison, money and he was supposed to attend a relative's birthday party in few days. On December 6, when he didn't show up at the party, his family reported him missing.
The police searched King's residence on December 9. Nothing appeared to be missing except his wallet and cellular phone.
He operated a salvage yard on his property at the time of his disappearance. An unidentified car was observed on King's property on December 4, but police haven't determined whether it had anything to do with his . They also investigated reports that King left with a friend who is a long-haul trucker.
Morrison was arrested on weapons charges in late December. She has a felony conviction in Iowa and isn't ly allowed to own guns, but police found several firearms at her residence. One of them, a handgun, was identified as the gun King normally carried with him.
Authorities haven't identified Morrison as a suspect in King's disappearance. She stated she and King talked to each other on the phone at least every other day. The friend that dropped King off at his home on the day of his disappearance has cooperated with the investigation and isn't considered a suspect.
The circumstances of King's disappearance are unclear. He hasn't used his credit cards since he went missing. His remains unsolved.
