A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are unknown. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons. In most parts of the world, a missing person will usually be found quickly. While criminal abductions are some of the most widely reported missing person cases, these account for only 2 to 5 percent of missing children in Europe. By contrast, some missing person cases remain unresolved for many years. Laws related to these cases are often complex since, in many jurisdictions, relatives and third parties may not deal with a person's assets until their death is considered proven by law and a formal death certificate issued. The situation, uncertainties, and lack of closure or a funeral resulting when a person goes missing may be extremely painful with long-lasting effects on family and friends. A number of organizations seek to connect, share best practices, and disseminate information and images of missing children to improve the effectiveness of missing children investigations, including the International Commission on Missing Persons, the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC), as well as national organizations, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in the US, Missing People in the UK, Child Focus in Belgium, and The Smile of the Child in Greece.

Sometimes a child suddenly vanishes from the bus stop or the local park or even from their own yard or bedroom. Or a teenager doesn�t return home after a walk to the neighborhood grocery store or a bike ride or a party with friends. Markings and/or Distinguishing Characteristics African-American female. Brown hair, brown eyes. Spaulding's nickname is Tammy. Her hair was cut short and dyed blonde at the time of her disappearance. She wears eyeglasses with black plastic frames, and her ears are pierced.
Details of Disappearance Spaulding was last seen in Jackson, Mississippi on September 2, 2016, after she took her two children to school, then went to work at Comcast, but left her job early that day. She was last seen at a payday lending business in the 1000 block of Ellis Avenue. She spoke to a family member on September 3; this is the last time they heard from her. She was possibly en route to Louisiana at the time.
On September 5, her dark blue 2013 Chevrolet Equinox with paper tags was found abandoned behind a gas station close to Savanna Street and Interstate 55 south in south Jackson. The keys were missing, the car had been wiped clean of fingerprints and there was no trace of Spaulding at the scene.
An anonymous tipster told Spaulding's family that she had been murdered and that her body was dissolved in acid and would never be found. The caller said Spaulding's ex-boyfriend was involved and that a red truck was used to dispose of her body. This information has not been confirmed.
Spaulding had previously gotten pregnant by her ex-boyfriend, then miscarried, and around the time of her miscarriage she found out he was seeing another woman who was also pregnant with his child.
Foul play is suspected in Spaulding's disappearance, but no one has been charged or named as a suspect in her disappearance. Her remains unsolved.
