A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are unknown. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons. In most parts of the world, a missing person will usually be found quickly. While criminal abductions are some of the most widely reported missing person cases, these account for only 2 to 5 percent of missing children in Europe. By contrast, some missing person cases remain unresolved for many years. Laws related to these cases are often complex since, in many jurisdictions, relatives and third parties may not deal with a person's assets until their death is considered proven by law and a formal death certificate issued. The situation, uncertainties, and lack of closure or a funeral resulting when a person goes missing may be extremely painful with long-lasting effects on family and friends. A number of organizations seek to connect, share best practices, and disseminate information and images of missing children to improve the effectiveness of missing children investigations, including the International Commission on Missing Persons, the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC), as well as national organizations, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in the US, Missing People in the UK, Child Focus in Belgium, and The Smile of the Child in Greece.

According to current statistics, 4,000 people in the United States go missing every day. Sometimes a child suddenly vanishes from the bus stop or the local park or even from their own yard or bedroom. Or a teenager doesnt return home after a walk to the neighborhood grocery store or a bike ride or a party with friends. Other times, an adult is mysteriously absent from their job or neighbors havent seen them for several days, and family and friends havent heard from them either.

Details of Disappearance Troche-Garcia was last seen in Asheboro, North Carolina on May 19, 2018. She stopped at the home of her ex-boyfriend in the 300 block of East Balfour Avenue that day and dropped off their six-month-old baby. She then went to her ex-boyfriend's sister's home and asked her to help take care of the baby, because she was going to go to Mexico because her mother was sick. She has never been heard from again.
When Troche-Garcia's family in Mexico was contacted, authorities learned her mother was not actually sick, that Troche-Garcia had not returned to Mexico, and that her family was unaware that she planned to return. She did make a few calls after her disappearance, including calls to an out-of-state phone number.
Her loved ones don't believe Troche-Garcia would have willingly left her daughter behind. She was a dedicated mother, and her baby had been born premature and was still breastfeeding. Investigators stated there was no evidence of foul play in her disappearance, but that they were puzzled by her , as none of Troche-Garcia's other friends recalled her saying anything about leaving.
She was last known to be driving a burgundy 2001 Chevrolet Impala with the North Carolina license plate number DFD-2191. It is still missing; a photo of a similar vehicle is posted with this summary. There's no evidence that the car ever crossed the border into Mexico, and no evidence that she took a flight from the local airport, either.
Troche-Garcia was born in Mexico and has four siblings. She moved to the Asheboro area in 2011 or 2012 and eventually got her U.S. citizenship. Prior to her disappearance, she had worked at a local furniture factory for almost three years. Her remains unsolved.
