He was visiting his mother-in-law at the Westmont VillAge at the time of disappearance: Retirement Facility when he left on foot between 5:15 and 5:30 p.m., walked north from the parking lot, and has never been heard from again. Tate lived on the ranch in Nipomo, California at the time of his disappearance, and his family stated he loved the outdoors. He was unfamiliar with the area where he was last seen.
