A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are unknown. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons. In most parts of the world, a missing person will usually be found quickly. While criminal abductions are some of the most widely reported missing person cases, these account for only 2 to 5 percent of missing children in Europe. By contrast, some missing person cases remain unresolved for many years. Laws related to these cases are often complex since, in many jurisdictions, relatives and third parties may not deal with a person's assets until their death is considered proven by law and a formal death certificate issued. The situation, uncertainties, and lack of closure or a funeral resulting when a person goes missing may be extremely painful with long-lasting effects on family and friends. A number of organizations seek to connect, share best practices, and disseminate information and images of missing children to improve the effectiveness of missing children investigations, including the International Commission on Missing Persons, the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC), as well as national organizations, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in the US, Missing People in the UK, Child Focus in Belgium, and The Smile of the Child in Greece.

According to current statistics, 4,000 people in the United States go missing every day. Sometimes a child suddenly vanishes from the bus stop or the local park or even from their own yard or bedroom. Or a teenager doesnt return home after a walk to the neighborhood grocery store or a bike ride or a party with friends. Other times, an adult is mysteriously absent from their job or neighbors havent seen them for several days, and family and friends havent heard from them either.

On May 24, 2007, Henry flew to Miami, Florida with her teenage sister to attend a reggae concert. They stayed with their aunt. Henry was due to fly home on the afternoon of May 29 and start work again the next day.
She was last seen leaving her aunt's Miami residence at 1:00 a.m. on May 29. She got into a dark gray four-door 1995 Acura Integra with Kendrick Lincoln Williams and they left, supposedly to go to Club Peppers, a dance club in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She has never been heard from again.
A photograph of Williams is posted with this summary. He stated he and Henry arrived safely at the club, but became separated once they got there and he went home. Surveillance videos from the club show Henry did arrive that night.
The last signal from Henry's cellular phone was at 4:13 a.m. on the day she disappeared and came from somewhere near Club Peppers. She checked her voice mail at that time. The phone has been turned off since then.
Im September 2007, investigators located and impounded Williams's Acura. He had sold it to another individual after Henry's disappearance.
A large amount of Henry's blood was found inside the vehicle, particularly on the front passenger seat and seat belt, and a bleach stain on the right front floorboard and under the front passenger seat. There was enough blood present to indicate a homicide.
From the pattern of bloodstains, investigators believe Henry was struck or stabbed in her upper back, neck or head. In January 2008, Williams was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in Henry's . He is awaiting trial.
Williams led a transient lifestyle at the time of Henry's disappearance and reportedly stalked an ex-girlfriend, who filed charges against him after he allegedly broke into her home.
Henry is described as a very responsible individual who would not have left without warning. She majored in criminal justice and psychology in college and graduated with honors. She planned to go to law school. Although her body has not been recovered, foul play is suspected in her due to the circumstances involved.
